Our Projects
Princeton University, Princeton, NJ
In January and February of 2021, I conducted interviews and participated in the development of the case study REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA VERSUS COVID-19: SECURING AN EARLY WIN, BEATING BACK A LATE-STAGE CHALLENGE, 2020 – 2021
The case was published in June 2021. This case study was supported by the United Nations Development Programme Crisis Bureau as part of a series on center-of-government coordination of the pandemic response. The interviewees for this case study were representatives of the Government of Georgia.
Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Augusta, ME
I worked for the Maine Center for Disease Prevention and Control as a Senior Health Program Manager of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Program. I was the Principal Investigator/Director for the disease-specific programs. I was providing program-wide strategic directions that included multiple disease areas (asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity) and oversaw the multiple US CDC cooperative agreements. I was providing leadership in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation and coordinating collaborative work with internal and external stakeholders.
MaineCare, Augusta, ME
As a financial analyst for the MaineCare I was chairing the Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ Data Defining Group. The goal of the group was to strengthen the analytic capacity of the Department. My leadership and strategic thinking were pivotal in reconciling the State of Maine accounting system with the MaineCare claims processing system and the Decision Support System/Truven Health Analytics. In addition, I was analyzing financial, clinical, and utilization data about the MaineCare members and providers, for the Maine DHHS internal and external entities.
Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia
I was an associate professor at the School of Economics and Health Care, Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, teaching Health Care Systems and Financing and Global Health. The main mission of my classes was to teach students about how healthcare systems work, the models used throughout the world, and the critical issues that are encountered in different healthcare systems. I was hired while the school’s mission, vision, and curriculum were still forming — and I am proud that with my involvement, the student admission rate quadrupled after one year.
